About the Tri-Valley Vegetarian Society
The Tri-Valley Vegetarian Society is an organization where Tri-Valley residents (Danville, San Ramon, Pleasanton, Dublin & Livermore) can come together and share delicious plant-based foods, learn new information, and offer encouragement and support for the vegetarian lifestyle. Participation is open to anyone and everyone practicing vegetarianism, veganism and/or a "Living Foods (Raw)" diet. Non-vegetarian family members and the "veg-curious" are also welcome to participate!
The goal of the Tri-Valley Vegetarian Society is to spread the word about vegetarianism and help empower people to make informed food choices that promote health and well-being, while lessening their environmental footprint and practicing compassion. Tri-Valley Vegetarian Society events are co-sponsored by the San Francisco Vegetarian Society. Please contact Lisa Williams if you are interested in volunteering and/or participating at a future event.
This event is co-sponsored by San Francisco Vegetarian Society (SFVS), East Bay Eco-Health and Long Live You!.

Christine Durrant presents: "Let's Talk Turkey!"
Christine's Bio: Christine Durrant is the Founder of Animal Matters, based out of Pleasant Hill, CA. An avid animal lover, Durrant invented a children’s board game, Fur & Feathers, in an effort to teach children about compassion towards animals. Fur & Feathers teaches the players about spaying and neutering, animal adoption, pet care and also the choices we have when it comes to the foods we eat. Her approach is gentle and education based. She believes that children have the capacity to make compassionate decisions on a daily basis, and that if children learn healthy alternatives to burgers and chicken nuggets, they will carry knowledge into adulthood. This will provide lifelong health benefits and also help preserve the planet and its precious resources. She believes that by offering simple information, children will make the necessary connections on their own. She plans to continue to develop fun, educational products that address animal issues and has many exciting products coming soon! Her website AnimalMatters.com has some great resources for animal lovers.
