Learn how to prepare healthier meals and snacks for your kids without sacrificing flavor, time or fun. Discover how the meals you prepare now can have a positive impact for the entire family and be the building blocks for a lifetime of good nutrition. We’ll prepare simple easy enchiladas, carrot cake muffins, cauliflower popcorn, spectacular spaghetti, superior smoothies, date-nut chewies and other kid-friendly food items that are relatively inexpensive and uncomplicated. You and your children will enjoy preparing these health-promoting and earth-friendly meals together at home. A $13 food fee is payable to the Instructor.

Dehydrating is a great way to preserve the nutritional integrity of food, prevent waste and save time and money! Students will learn dehydrating tips and techniques, Learn how to easily dehydrate fruits, veggies, herbs and much more. Sample recipes for gluten and dairy free products including crepes, cookies, granola, chips, crackers, onion bread, won-tons and jerky will be available . Participants will also receive a healthy smoothie and lots of snacks during this class. A $9 food fee is payable to the instructor.

HEALTHY HOLIDAYS

Instructor: Chef Lisa Books-Williams

Learn to prepare delicious trimmings and sides that can "WOW" friends and family and please even the pickiest eaters. Butternut squash soup, chestnut apple stuffing, roasted vegetable medley, yummy cranberry sauce and a tangerine-glazed polenta cake with rosemary will all be demonstrated with generous servings for you to enjoy. All food items are low in fat with no cholesterol, so there’s no need to feel guilty about enjoying a second serving. An $11 food fee is payable to the instructor.
